Pesapallo and now Pallonz in New Zealand

Founded in Finland and now near on 80 years later it is arriving in New Zealand.
Better than baseball faster than softball and more family orientated than any other sport Pallonz is what every sports person is looking to play.


Pallonz is the New Zealand version of Pesapallo which is game which although similar to both baseball and softball brings more thinking more cunning and more concentration to the game than any other sport. It has the skill of cricket and the tactics of American Football. The bat is baseball or softball in style. The ball as in baseball. The bases are not in the diamond layout of baseball or softball but rather are in zig zag formation making base running a speed exercise in surviving to score any runs for your team. The field size and layout is easier to understand than baseball or softball. No long home runs here because the batter come base runner has to run the bases  with risk of being put out with no easy home run trot around the bases. The field itself fits ever so nicely onto the standard rugby or even soccer field making it far more attractive to local authorities in field allocation.
But to have this game in New Zealand we have to have players and supporters and corporate sponsors. This game will take teams to world series competition is such countries as Finland, Germany, Japan or maybe one day here in New Zealand.
Teams are made up of players as per baseball or softball BUT Teams do not have to be single gender in make up. World series competition also caters for mixed gender teams as well as single gender teams. Youth teams are also catered for and in the same format as for the adult level teams.
So do you want to play Pallonz here in New Zealand. At this stage only Auckland is in contention to set up the game BUT should you be in other regions of New Zealand and think you have the drive to help set up in your area then please contact us..........
